Description

What a day! The butterflies are out in force. I've spotted loads today and got some great shots. This being one of them. Its a Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly. Not particularly rare but nice to find none the less. The larvae dine on stinging-nettles which, I'm glad to say, we have many of locally This butterfly is collecting nectar from a common thistle flower.
